Jamie McCarry is one of Asia Pacific’s most experienced finance executives with a track record of building and running multi-billion dollar businesses across the region from India to China – and many places in between Originally from Scotland, Jamie studied economics at the University of Glasgow before spending his formative years in the City of London at GRE (latterly AXA) Group HO in a range of finance and strategy roles- For the last 22 years Jamie has lived and worked across Asia and has the unique experience of establishing and managing highly successful JVs with the leading domestic banks in Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and ultimately China where Jamie was responsible for establishing and managing the ICBC-AXAJV which became the leading foreign JV insurer in China. Having worked with one of the most significant China SOE’s (ICBC) Jamie further deepened that unique China experience by spending 3 years as VP at Fosun, one of China’s largest POE’s, running investment teams in Shanghai, London and New York. Currently Jamie spends his time between Shanghai and Sydney managing private equity investments in the food, beverage and finance sectors as well as providing corporate and investment advisory services.
